Walk With Us
Support Whānau to Thrive
At Ki Tua o Matariki, we walk alongside young parents, hapu mama, pepi, and whanau — supporting them through the vital first 2,000 days of parenting and beyond.
More than a service. We walk as whānau.
Young parents in Aotearoa are among the most judged and least resourced people in our communities. For Māori matua taiohi navigating new parenthood while also navigating a system that was never built for them, the odds are stacked early.
Ki Tua o Matariki walks alongside them. Not as a service at arm's length, but as whānau. Our kaimahi — many of whom are young parents themselves — create spaces where people feel genuinely seen and supported, often for the first time.
The first 2,000 days of a pepi's life shape everything that follows. When we invest in those days — in stable housing, in culturally grounded maternity care, in a parent who feels capable and connected — we are investing in the next generation of rangatira.
That is what your support makes possible.

They have guided me through challenges and accepted me as I am. They also helped me get social housing through a connection in Kainga Ora.

I wouldn't feel as reconnected to my Māori side without the help of my social worker getting me involved with the parenting programme.

The support system of Ki Tua o Matariki is very strong — no judgment, but courage and understanding.

Be Part of This Kaupapa
Whether you give regularly, once-off, or bring your colleagues along — there is a way to be part of this kaupapa that works for you.
Give Monthly
Walk With Us Every Step.Your regular support means we can be there when whānau need us most. Giving monthly has a greater impact — it lets us plan ahead, respond quickly, and show up consistently for whānau throughout the year.
Make a One-Off Donation
Any amount makes a difference. A single koha goes directly to the kaupapa — into a wananga, a home visit, kai for a whānau, or a counselling session for a young mama who needs it.
Give in Memory or Celebration
Mark something meaningful — a birthday, an anniversary, a life well-lived — with a gift that reaches forward into the next generation. Dedication gifts can be made through our donation page, and we will send you a personalised acknowledgement to share.
Workplace Giving
Align your business with a kaupapa that matters. Whether through payroll giving, matched donations, or a staff volunteering day, there are real ways to make your team's generosity go further. We would love to korero about what works for your organisation.
Fundraise for Us
Some of the most meaningful support we receive comes from people who simply decide to bring their community along with them. A birthday. A run. A shared challenge with workmates. When you fundraise for Ki Tua o Matariki, you are not just raising pūtea — you are growing the circle of people who know this kaupapa.
Leave a Gift in Your Will
A legacy gift is one of the most meaningful ways to support Ki Tua o Matariki. If you are considering including us in your will, we would be honoured to speak with you or your adviser. Your gift could help build a stronger, more resilient service for generations of whānau to come.
Partner With Us
Partnerships with Ki Tua o Matariki go beyond a logo on a page. The best ones are grounded in shared values — a genuine commitment to Māori whānau wellbeing and intergenerational change.
We work with partners who want to make a real difference in Tamaki Makaurau and across Hauraki. Our approach means we build relationships that are reciprocal, not transactional, and that protect the mana of our whānau at every step.
We are open to sponsorship of programmes, staff volunteering, in-kind support, workplace giving, and matched giving. But honestly, the best place to start is a conversation.
